Known as one of the area's most creative and fun cover bands, Kids Don't Bounce has been entertaining the area since 2007. Comprised of professional musicians from the '80s and '90s, Kids Don't Bounce is South Jersey's #1 Dance, Country, and Rock party band. Available for clubs and private engagements, the band will take you through your favorites; from classic R&B and rock 'n roll to modern country and dance music.

Current Live Performances

Kids Don't Bounce is a 4-piece, multiple-genre cover act that originated in October 2007 in the southern New Jersey area. Formed by ex-Robert Hazard guitarist Paul Kuntz, members were hand picked based on diverse experience and abilities. With a varied song selection ranging from R&B to modern country, the band offers a uniquely wide collection of musical styles and songs that everybody remembers. However, one thing remains constant: the good times, get up and dance, party band atmosphere has returned.

Guitarist/lead vocalist Paul Kuntz is best remembered for his work with Robert Hazard and Drastic Measures, as well as founder of the popular cover band Mister Monkey Pants. Lead guitarist and vocalist Michael Shaw is best known for his shredding guitar work, having played in popular area bands such as Rough Toys and Huge Heffner. John Digue, the band's bassist, has been in and out of bands with all of the rest of the members since the early '80s, and was brought on board for his solid, disciplined playing. The newest addition, Rich Reynolds on drums, has added a new excitement to the band's performances. Rich has come directly out of a 6-year retirement to play with the band, and has been welcomed by the band and fans alike.

With regular shows and frequently updated song lists, Kids Don't Bounce has become the popular alternative to the bar band. The band's ever-growing popularity has brought them to many venues, having played local clubs and opened for Southern Rock great Jimmie Van Zant. The range of Dance, Disco, Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Modern Country and R&B with a focus on popular, danceable, good-time music has entertained dancers and listeners alike for over a year and continues to do so as their fan base continues to grow.

Paul Kuntz, Lead Vocals and GuitarPaul Kuntz (Lead Vocals and Guitar):

Paul started playing guitar when he was about 7 years old as an alternative to building bike ramps and breaking bones with his friends. He's a proud self-proclaimed noisemaker with over two decades of professional performing and recording experience. He spent most of his time playing in original rock bands in the '80s and '90s, and accepted an offer in the late '80s to play guitar for the late Robert Hazard (RCA/BMG recording artist), best known for the song "Escalator Of Life" and his song "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", made famous by Cyndi Lauper.

He has also worked closely with well-known producers Steve Goldstein (known for his work with Steve Perry) and Bill Klatt (producer for Days Of The New and Mucky Pup). He has worked both professionally and personally with many other bands from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, including Bryant, Sight Unseen, Permanent Damage, Drastic Measures, Citizen Kane and Honeyrust, Baby Heather and various studio recordings.

Paul earned his music performance certificate from Musician's Institute in Hollywood Ca., and got to add to his experience with their instruction staff, including Paul Gilbert, Paul Hanson, Don Mock and Scott Henderson. Rumor is that they threw a huge party when Paul left. He wasn't invited...

After a 6-year break from music in the mid 1990s, Paul's manic personality refused to let him sit around any longer. As history repeated itself, he decided to get back into music as an alternative to building car ramps and killing himself with his friends. After taking over as host for Open Mic Nights in Millville, he ran into some old friends and started Mister Monkey Pants, a party and dance band that played covers throughout Delaware, southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Comprised of mostly professional musicians, personal schedules eventually led to the band saying farewell in late 2007. It was then that Paul saw the opportunity to fuse that band's "classics and dance" electricity with more R&B, modern country, and rock music and started the search for musicians to start Kids Don't Bounce.

Paul uses various stock and boutique pedals and amplification, and professional endorsements include Kissinger Electronics New Jesey, the now-defunct Electrosonic Amplifiers in Boonsville, IN, and King Bee Guitars in Lufkin, TX. He also uses Robert Keeley, CMATMODS, Boss, and OZ/FX effects. His main guitars are all hand-built by him so he could get modern features in vintage-styled instruments.

Time Served:

Started out as a drummer (or wanting to be) until my grandmother bought me my first guitar @ 14. Didn't know how to tune it, so I made up my own way. Well, for the first 3 years I played that way, until someone showed me the light. I never really had "Guitar amps" I played thru assorted cheap stereos, turning them up louder for distortion….very pathetic. Self taught as a guitar player, but I did manage to go through drum lessons as a kid.

First time playing in a club was in 1984. I felt right then, that I had a knack for being a complete idiot that you just HAD to watch. I had fun being that idiot, which led to being the opening act for Joan Jet, Robin Trower, Brittany Fox, and a few others.

Life took its toll in the mid 90's, and I got away from playing for 2 years, and immediately went crazy. Not "Shoot squirrel and eat their faces" crazy, but stir crazy. Dicky Moe Saved me. (Ok, that sounds weird) And we went on to play locally for 7 years.
This band, Kids Don't Bounce, is by far, the most talented group of musicians I've ever played with, and the most fun. I hope somewhere; somehow, it all shows, in our shows. And for Cripes sakes… look at all the squirrels you'll be saving if you keep coming to see us….
